2018, you’ve done it again! It’s officially the summer of quickie and surprise celebrity engagements. Just when we thought that nothing could be wilder than Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin getting engaged, we’ve been proven wrong. Now, congratulations are in order for Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra because People reports that the couple is engaged after two months of dating.
Nick, 25, reportedly got down on one knee a week ago on Priyanka’s 36th birthday while the two were in London, with sources telling the website that Nick closed down a Tiffany store in New York City to buy an engagement ring. How romantic is that?
Another source told the magazine that the former Jonas Brother is “very, very happy” and that his friends and family have never seen him like this. The insider also said that everyone is very excited for him and that he’s definitely very serious about the Quantico star. He better be!
Priyanka’s director for the Bollywood film Bharat, Ali Abbas Zafar, also revealed the actress would no longer be working on the move in a cryptic tweet, hinting that it was because of Nick.
“Yes Priyanka Chopra is no more part of @Bharat_TheFilm & and the reason is very very special, she told us in the Nick of time about her decision and we are very happy for her,” he tweeted on Thursday night.”Team Bharat wishes @priyankachopra loads of love & happiness for life.”

This engagement news comes only two months after the pair started dating. However, if there’s one thing we’ve learned about celebrity relationships lately, it’s that love cannot be quantified by the amount of time you’ve been together. Just look at Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson‘s whirlwind romance! There is definitely love in Hollywood’s air and we couldn’t be happier. If these reports are true, there are now two Jonas brothers engaged since Joe Jonas is also getting ready to walk down the aisle with Game of Thrones star, Sophie Turner.
Since they started dating, Nick and Priyanka have been very private about their relationship, which is why we might have to wait a little while before either of them confirm their engagement. They first sparked romance rumors at the 2017 Met Gala when they walked the red carpet together, however, they only officially started dating one year later in May of this year. They’ve pretty much been inseparable ever since with websites reporting that the two had even moved into Priyanka’s NYC apartment. They also traveled to India together and Priyanka spent Fourth of July weekend with Nick’s whole family.
Earlier this month, Priyanka spoke about marriage and having children during an event in the Hamptons. Though she didn’t mention Nick, she told Entertainment Tonight that she definitely sees herself getting married someday. She also told People that having kids is very important to her.
“I am a very ‘live in the today,’ maximum ‘live in the next two months’ kind of person. But [in] 10 years, I definitely want to have kids. That is, it’s going to happen in the next ten years. Well, hopefully, earlier than that. I’m very fond of children and I want to be able to do that,” she said.
Nick already made one of two things come true, so perhaps more Jonas babies are on the way much sooner than we all expected! We can’t wait. Congrats again to the happy couple!
